Level 2 – Eight Mile Circular Heath & Sutton Scarsdale Hall

This is an eight-mile Level Two circular walk starting from Heath in North East Derbyshire through reclaimed industrial landscapes, countryside, woodland and the impressive ruins of Sutton Scarsdale Hall.
Meet outside The Elm Tree Inn, Mansfield Road, Heath from 10.30am onwards for an 11.00am start.
From Heath we will walk to Sutton Scarsdale followed by a picnic stop at the ruins of Sutton Scarsdale Hall before returning to Heath.

The walk will finish back at Heath where for anyone interested there will be the option of a visit to the Elm Tree Inn for a celebratory drink.
This is a Level Two undulating walk through fields, woodlands and paved roads with some gentle ascents, expect muddy conditions and variable weather due to the time of year.
Please ensure that you bring along adequate food, drink, and clothing for the walk and that your fitness levels are suitable for this type of walk.
For those traveling from Nottingham, the Pronto bus departs from Nottingham Victoria Bus Station at 0910, meet up at the bus station from 0845 onwards. There are numerous return buses from Heath and the cost of a return ticket is £7.00.
Please do not race ahead of the walk leaders as you could easily go off route and not be able to find us, and we will pause regularly for any slower walkers to catch up and get their breaths back.
