July 7 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Starting from the marketplace in the town of Codnor we first walk to the scenic ruins of Codnor Castle before descending into Golden Valley where we follow the Cromford Canal to the Midland Railway Centre at Swanwick Junction where we will stop for a rest break and lunch.
We then begin a gradual climb back out of Golden Valley to arrive back at the start point of Codnor marketplace with an option for a celebratory drink at the Poet & Castle pub.
This is a Level Two undulating walk with gradual ascents and descents and long flat stretches along the Cromford Canal.
Weather may be variable along with ground conditions being muddy in places so proper clothing and walking boots are essential. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
